Yes! AGAIN!
It's such a beautiful story about life. And love and pain. Just think of how much everyone suffers. Meggie loving Ralph whole her life but not having him but for few days instead of years; Ralph loving Meggie, but "loving God more" and so being torn by his desire and his am-bition (yes, in my head, I just imitated the way he says "ambition" just moments before he dies). Then how much Jussie and Rain and Dane and Fee and Frank and ALL OF THEM suffer through life. It's just so realistic, it's not some idealistic american story with happy ending that's supposed to bring tears to your eyes. (PLEASE.) This book and it's adaptation have brought tears to my eyes... well, quite a few times, not just at the end.
But it's not fair that no one cares. I mean, I know that the fact that it's actually from the 80's doesn't attract teenagers nowdays, but some appreciation would be nice. Furthermore, I go to the catholic school and half of my teachers are priests, so the only comment I managed to get from my friends was "yeeeeeeah, I know that story. But it's so sick! Imagine if you fell in love with one of our professors who's so much older than ya!" GOD.
